What can I expect for my initial tidying session?

  • We will find out more about what you are wanting to achieve in your home and life and why that is important for you.

  • Do a home tour to familiarise me with your home and the available storage.

  • A small home greeting.

  • Then we will begin tidying by category - typically clothing, but will depend on your individual situation.

  • We will store the items you have chosen to keep.

  • Discuss a plan forward.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my initial tidying session?

I'll ask you to start thinking about how you truly wish to live your life: What do you imagine your life to be like when your home is free of clutter? How would you like to spend your time? How would you like to feel in your home and life? That is all! No need for any prior cleaning. It is helpful for me to get an accurate picture of how things are for you at the moment.

How long will it take?

This is almost as personal as the belongings you choose to keep :) It will depend on the amount of items you have and the time it takes to choose what you would like to keep (joy-check). There is opportunity to do tasks between each session (optional homework), and completion of this helps to shorten the overall number of tidying sessions needed to complete your tidying journey.

What does a virtual tidying session look like?

For virtual tidying sessions, I like to use Zoom for video conferencing. Virtual tidying sessions are like an in-person tidying session, except that I won’t be with you to assist with the physical work. Sessions are generally broken into two smaller sessions with a small break in between. To help make the most of our time together, in our initial complimentary hour we will go over any details to ensure a smooth connection and session. A clear plan to prepare for each session will continue to be provided.

Do I need to work with a consultant?

Absolutely not, there are a range of resources to help you tidy on your own or with a friend.

The benefits of working with me are that I offer:

  • Non-judgemental support, guidance, encouragement, and accountability.

  • Knowledge and experience. I am a certified Platinum KonMari® Consultant trained by Marie Kondo and the KMI team. I am also a Certification Coach at KonMari Media, Inc. where I support and mentor upcoming Consultants across the globe through their certification journey.

  • I'll help keep you on track so that you can flow through your tidying and simplifying journey effectively and efficiently in a way that will create lasting positive change.

Maintaining your tidy home simply involves returning items to their established home and we will work to find the easiest and most joyful way to do this. This is a process that celebrates the positive relationship you have with your items and cultivates gratitude, appreciation, care and respect. As you care for and enjoy your items you may find you naturally continue to check them for joy.

Can you help me with just one room?

I'd love to, but I also want to ensure that you have the skills and mindset to keep that room tidy forever. For this reason, I like to use the KonMari Method® which is based on over 20 years of experience and will give you so much more than a single tidy room!

My partner’s/kid’s things are driving me nuts! Can you help me?

This is a common request! I’d like to understand your individual situation better.

Do you help children tidy up?

Yes! I enjoy guiding children to tidy. I do recommend that their main caregiver begin their own tidying journey first though. I have a current Blue card: Queensland’s Working with Children Check.

Can you help with storage solutions and wardrobe design?

I'd love to help you find solutions for storing your cherished belongings but not clutter ;) I have a background in design and love helping to create spaces of beauty, order and simplicity from a single drawer to an entire home. Discussions on final storage happen toward the end of your tidying journey, once you have a clear idea of what you have chosen to keep.

Can I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Yes, for cancellations, 7-days notice will receive 50% refund and 3-days notice will receive 25% refund.
I understand that life happens and we can’t always plan for the unexpected. 1 short-notice reschedule is granted without incurring a fee, then 7-days notice is required or a reschedule will incur a $80 fee up to 3-days prior to the scheduled booking. Less than 3-days notice the session fee is forfeited.
